We are back with our second installment of useful onomatopoeia! Today we have:
A- さらさら = rustling / fluently / free-flowing
B- キラキラ = glittering / sparkling / twinkling
C- つるつる = smooth / slippery / slurping (noodles)
Let’s look at some example sentences to see how they translate.
The stream is flowing smoothly.
This fabric has a smooth touch.
Her long black hair fluttered in the wind.
The long name of Picasso came out of his mouth without hesitation.
The star is sparkling
The eyes of kids who have found the toy they want sparkle.
I slurp soba.
The snowy road is slippery and it is dangerous to walk.
The baby’s skin is smooth.
As mentioned in the last post about onomatopoeia, try to get a feel for the words and not just memorize them robotically.
