第150ー オノマトペ #2

We are back with our second installment of useful onomatopoeia! Today we have:

A- さらさら = rustling / fluently / free-flowing
B- キラキラ = glittering / sparkling / twinkling
C- つるつる = smooth / slippery / slurping (noodles)

Let’s look at some example sentences to see how they translate.

A- さらさら

1- 小川おがわがさらさらとながれている。
The stream is flowing smoothly.

2- この生地きじは、肌触はだざわりがサラサラしている。
This fabric has a smooth touch.

3- 彼女かのじょなが黒髪くろかみはさらさらとかぜになびいた。
Her long black hair fluttered in the wind.

4- かれくちからピカソのなが本名ほんみょうよどみなくさらさらとてきた。
The long name of Picasso came out of his mouth without hesitation.

B- キラキラ

5- ほしがキラキラとかがやいている。
The star is sparkling

6- しいおもちゃをつけたときどものはキラキラしている。
The eyes of kids who have found the toy they want sparkle.

C- つるつる

7- つるつるとおそばをべる。
I slurp soba.

8- 雪道ゆきみちはつるつるしていてあるくのがあぶない。
The snowy road is slippery and it is dangerous to walk.

9- あかちゃんのはだはつるつるしている。
The baby’s skin is smooth.

As mentioned in the last post about onomatopoeia, try to get a feel for the words and not just memorize them robotically.
